President's Message
Welcome to the Lake County Development Council Web site. This organization and those who are involved constitute a significant part of what makes Lake County such a great place to live and do business.
The Council seeks to enhance the quality of life in Lake County and stands to assist you and receive your input. It has been that way since 1958; 2008 is our 50th year of service!
Some of the selected highlights of LCDC accomplishments over the years include:
• Established the SBA 504 loan program
• Helped form the Lake County Economic Development Center
• Launched the Lake County Visitors Bureau
• Formed the Lake Communities Development Corp. for affordable housing construction
• Initiated workforce development efforts
∙ Presents the Legislative Breakfast in February and the Economic Forum in October
• Initiated a microloan program with the Economic Development Center
• Created the International Folk Festival held at Lakeland Community College yearly
